Barcelona has been an attraction center of several world-class players and despite being in debt, the club has signed some big names in recent times. Once again, they’re linked with one of the best strikers at the moment Erling Haaland, and club’s manager Xavi Hernández has shared his views on the transfer.
Ahead of their Europa League clash against Turkish team Galatasaray, Xavi addressed the press. Let’s know more about the possible transfer of Erlind Haaland to Barcelona and what Xavi has to say on this.
Xavi Opens Up On Possible Transfers
Barcelona are one of the best clubs in the world and have achieved massive success in the past decade. However, the club saw a downfall in past few years. After making so many flop signings, the club went into debt due to the global pandemic in 2020.
Leo Messi: “I’m really sad because I didn’t want to leave this club. I love Barcelona and I wanted to stay, my contract was ready. I did everything in my possibility to stay”. 🔴 #Messi #FCB #FCBlive pic.twitter.com/9tUbv2aWCB

Later on, the club even lost their main man Lionel Messi last year due to salary cap. And this season, they finished 3rd in the UCL group which sent them into the Europa League.
However, there have been some positives after the arrival of Xavi Hernandez as manager. The club made some sensible signings with the likes of Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Adama Traore(on-loan). The move looks like working and now Barca are 3rd in the table for the 2nd time this season after the 1st week.
Moreover, Xavi doesn’t seem to stop here and wants to sign some more players. As per the reports, he’s interested in signing Norwegian striker Erling Haaland who is currently playing for German club Borussia Dortmund.

In the press conference, Xavi said, “Look it is always a good moment to sign for Barcelona. For me, this is the best club in the world. And, honestly, not a single player has said no to Barcelona since I have been here(as coach).”
He further added, “You explain how we play and how we train. You tell them that here they will touch the ball 40 times a game instead of 20.”
Has Xavi And Haaland Met For Transfer Talks?
According to reports, the Spanish manager went to Munich to meet Haaland. The striker was recovering in Munich from an injury.
However, Xavi denied the meeting and said he is working for both the present and the future.
Xavi’s Barcelona will be against Galatasaray in the first leg of RO16 of the Europa League.
