Lucknow Super Giants and Gujrat Titans are the two brand new teams of IPL season 15, the teams are franchise based in Uttar Pradesh and Ahmedabad respectively. The teams have played their opening match of IPLÂ (4th Match of tournament) on Monday, 28th March. Gujrat Titans have got a lead in the match after defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets (2 balls left).
Both the teams have formed a great squad by selecting some of the best players in respective teams. Before auction the team signed three players of their choice in which Gujrat Titans has chosen Hardik Pandya the all-rounder player, that too as a captain, along with Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill. And for Lucknow Super Giants, the team signed KL Rahul as the Captain who was the former captain of Punjab Kings. Other two players of the team are Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis, making it one of the most strongest team.
Lucknow Super Giants Owner
The Chairperson of the famous RP-Sanjeev Goenka group, Sanjeev Goenka is the owner of Lucknow-based franchise, Lucknow Super giants for this 15th season of IPL. Also the team will be leaded by KL Rahul.
Sajeev Goenka Group is not a new in the field of IPL or in sports because of its previously owned Raising Pune Super Giants IPL Team, which played on the 2016 and 2017 edition of IPL. Aside from their investments in cricket the Sanjeev Goenka group, they are also heavy investors of sports like Football and Table Tennis.
Gujrat Titans Owner
CVC Capital is the owner of another brand new team of this IPL season Gujrat Titans, an Ahmedabad, Gujrat-basted Franchise. The CVC Capitals are partners with a British Private equity and investment firm whose total assets are worth for $75 billion.
Also yesterday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai both the teams played their first match of the league against each other where Gujrat defeats Lucknow. Titans were at full form to play the match whereas Super Giants’ got a bit unlucky.
Gujrat Titans won their first ever match of the IPL by scoring 161 runs for 5 wickets whereas opposition Lucknow Super Giants scored 158 runs for 6 wickets. For LSG Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Mohammed Shami scored 55, 54 and 3/25 respectively. And for the winning team the captain Hardik Pandya, Rahul Tewatia and Dushmantha Chameera scored 33, 40 not out and 2/22 respectively.
