No one imagined before the start of the IPL that Chennai Super Kings would be at the bottom of the table after playing their first 4 games.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was retained for 12 Cr by CSK and was expected to lead the franchise but just before the IPL the former captain of CSK Mahendra Singh Dhoni handed the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja who is in great form and is currently dominating the world cricket
The defending champions started their campaign with a loss to Kolkata Knight Riders. They faced further defeats to Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings before succumbing to a one-sided defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the fourth match of CSK against Sunrisers Hyderbad, the side was restricted to 151 and SRH chased the target with 14 balls in hand.

It remains to be seen how Jadeja and the 4-time champions respond to the situation. The last time when CSK lost 4 matches in a row was in 2010.
They went on to win the trophy that season for the very first time.
CSK started their dominance in the IPL as they went on to win the IPL in 2011 as well. They also won the erstwhile Champions League.
