Twitter Reacts As Yuzvendra Chahal Picks Up The First Hat Trick Of IPL 2022

In what may be termed a historic feat, Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to record the first hat-trick of the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Not only did he secure a hat-trick but also took 5-wickets against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday night.

Chahal’s lethal spell and Jos Butler’s 103-run knock powered RR to a thrilling seven-run win against KKR at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. It was definitely a night to remember for the leg-spinner picked four wickets in an over-including a hat-trick- turned the match totally in RR’s favor.

In the 17th over, Chahal managed to send Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Mavi, and Pat Cummins back into the dressing room.

Post him taking a hat-trick, the leg-spinner caught the attention of the audience for his quirky celebration where he re-created his famous meme-pose which went viral during the 2019 ODI World Cup where he was ‘chilling’ along the boundary ropes and was on drinks duty after he was given rest.

Chasing a target of 218, Chahal disrupted the plan of KKR who were en route to upset the Sanju-Samson side in the IPL. With this record, Chahal became the 22nd bowler to take a hat-trick in IPL and the fifth RR bowler to achieve the milestone. Many cricketing greats, including likes of Virender Sehwag, Yusuf Pathan, Wasim Jaffer, and Lasith Malinga, among others, heaped praise on the leg-spinner’s incredible bowling.

His magic in the 17th overtook the internet by storm as fans and former cricketers came forward to praise the Indian spinner.
