“Sign Of Respect”: Russell Westbrook On Getting Booed By Lakers Fans

Things are going from bad to worse for Los Angeles Lakers as they lost yet another game against Milwaukee Bucks. The scoreline at the end was 131-116 in the favor of the Bucks. Russell Westbrook failed to put numbers once again on the sheet and was booed by the home fans.

This was the second time when Russ received such kind of welcome at the Crypto.com Arena. Earlier, in the game against Knicks, LA fans booed the star for an awful miss.

Russell Westbrook Speaks About Getting Booed

Westbrook had a decent night on the court against Bucks as he scored 10 points and 5 assist in 26 minutes of game time. However, fans didn’t seem to be very happy with Westbrook’s performance.

In the post match press conference, Russ was asked about getting booed by the home fans and was it a hard thing. To that, Russ replied, “Sign of respect (smiling face), my mindset and how I think about this game is not predicated on boos”.

He added, “I have a platform, where I’m able to use to be able to do other things that God has blessed me with to be able to do, and I will continue to do…”

He also added a few more lines and you can watch that by going through the video.

Earlier, Russell Westbrook shared his love for the City and team by an Instagram post.

Lakers Struggle Continues

Despite LeBron James’ 27 points, the Lakers lost yet another game against Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo was the star of the night as he put 44 points on the board to guide the Bucks towards their 35th victory of the season.

The big three of Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis appeared in the match but failed to guide Lakers towards the victory.

Bucks are now 35-21 this season and are 2nd in the Eastern Conference. Whereas Lakers continue to struggle and are on 9th with 26-29. A playoff spot looks very difficult for the 2020 Champions, but with more than 25 games remaining, nothing is impossible.
