Rishabh Pant to Miss the IPL 2023: Full Report Here

The 16th season of IPL is all set to begin in the last week of March. This 2023 season of IPL is definitely going to be the most exciting season but this year we will be missing Delhi’s star player, Rishabh Pant.

On 30th December the cricket star met with a severe accident but luckily he is in stable condition now. Pant was also going to be part of the Border-Gavaskar starting in February but due to the accident, he won’t be able now.

Who is the New Captain of the Delhi Capitals

Rishabh is with the Delhi Capitals in IPL since the 2016 season, DC was also in the finals in 2020 thus the team has hopes for winning the tournament this year. Rishabh Pant’s miss can be a great loss for the capitals but the team will surely try to prove themselves this season.

The former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Saurav Ganguly who is also going to join Delhi Capitals as the Director of cricket quoted that, “Rishabh Pant will not be available for the IPL”, he also added that “It will be a great IPL (for the team), we will do well but Rishab Pant’s injury will affect the Delhi Capitals” via Sports today.

The list of players and captains is not announced officially yet however, Australian player David Warner may step up to be the Capitals’ new captain.

Rishabh Pant’s Recovery from Road Accident

Rishabh met with a car accident on a Delhi-Dehradun highway in Uttrakhand, he was taken to a nearby hospital and was then moved to Max Hospital Dehradun after primary treatment.

As of now Pant is being treated at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital and his ligament injuries are expected to heal within the next three to four months. He also has injuries on his right knee and abrasions on his back.

Due to his health conditions, Pant will miss some important matches including the Border-Gavaskar trophy upcoming in the month of February and the Indian Premier League 2023 season.
