Reports: Barcelona Cracks Huge Spotify Deal, Know How Much Money The Club Will Receive

La Liga club Barcelona has now struck a deal with music streaming company Spotify to raise more than €280million. The sponsorship deal will allow fans to see the logo of Spotify on the jerseys of Barca players.

Interestingly, the company has also signed a stadium sponsorship agreement with Barcelona. This makes Spotify the first company to sponsor Barca’s home stadium Camp Nou.

Let’s talk about the deal more in detail and know how this is a massive boost for Barcelona.

How Spotify Deal Will Help Barcelona In Future

Spotify has signed a 3-year deal with the Catalan club. Moreover, this will now allow Spotify to appear on the jerseys of Barcelona players replacing Rakuten. Notably, Spotify has signed a deal for both men and women teams, including the stadium sponsor.

Earlier, Rakuten acquired the sponsorship deals back in 2017 for men’s team. The deal will end by the end of the season, meaning Spotify will appear on the team jersey from next season.

This is a massive boost for the Catalan club as they are facing huge debt since the pandemic. Barcelona now have a debt of more than one billion and the salary cap is there to increase their trouble.

The salary cap and debt forced Barcelona to release their best player Lionel Messi after 18 years. Currently, they’re struggling to make new signings and register players with the salary they receive.

This deal will surely give a boost to the management of the team, as they can now register few players for the next season.

As of now, the deal is not made official and is expected to get announced by Tuesday.

Barcelona New Signings And Contract Issues

Manager Xavi’s priority is to sign youngster Gavi. Gavi’s contract is going to expire in 2023 and the team is trying their best to retain the academy player.

However, the salary cap and budget after signing new players on loans like Adama Traore, Torres, and Aubamyand might not allow the deal.

Reports also suggest that defender Ronald Araujo has no interest in signing a new deal with the club.
