‘Real IPL Is Back”: Fans Express Their Happiness As MS Dhoni Returns As CSK Captain

Ravindra Jadeja handed the Chennai Super Kings captaincy back to the former Captain of CSK Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday. Jadeja stepped down as captain of CSK to focus and concentrate more on the game.

“Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game,” said the franchise in an official release.

Jadeja has struggled in the tournament, scoring just 112 runs in 92 balls at a strike rate of 121.7, and has picked up just 5 wickets so far. He hasn’t helped Chennai turn around their fate since taking the captaincy and still searching for his form.

Fans were thrilled with MS Dhoni returning to the captaincy after having a bad season this year.

Just after Dhoni was handed the captaincy, he led the yellow army to their third win this season after openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Convoy put together a partnership of 182 against Sunrisers Hyderabad that helped CSK to put a total of 202. SRH managed to score 189, thus falling short by 13 runs.
