Sule was on the radar of many teams including the Premier League team Chelsea. Moreover, Chelsea’s main defenders Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen might leave this summer.
However, as per Romano, Sule preferred to stay in Germany and compete in the Bundesliga.
Defending has been an issue for Borrusia Dortmund, as they conceded 36 goals in 21 games, most among the top 12 teams in the league. So, Dortmund fans will be happy to see a signing like Sule who will be pairing with the likes of experienced Matt Hummels.
The future director of Dortmund said, “Süle strongly wanted to join us”.
“We are pleased that we’re able to sign a German national player in Niklas Süle and retain him for four years”, said Michael Zorc.
