Manchester City Captain Fernandinho Confirms He Will Be Leaving The Club At The End Of The Season

Manchester City has reached new heights under Fernandinho. The captain has led his team with his full contribution which helped the club to be one of the conquerors of the Premier league. After the successful years he had at the club Fernandinho has finally revealed, he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

On Tuesday afternoon while speaking to the press ahead of City’s second leg quarter-final against Atletico Madrid the captain revealed him leaving the club. The press Journalists and all present at the conference were shocked after his statement. As a result, fans expressed their disappointment through various social media.

Fernando Luiz Roza popularly known as Fernandinho plays as a midfielder for Manchester City. He has been one of the most successful captains of the club. Fernandinho made his premier league debut for the blues in a 4-0 win against the Newcastle United. His first goal for the club came against Arsenal where he sealed two goals winning by 6-3.

He has been an integral part of the City since 2013. Under his participation, Manchester City F.C has played nine seasons and clinched eleven major trophies. The City has four premier league titles, six EFL cups, and one FA cup under Fernandinho being an important part of team. The club was also were crowned as the runner-up of 2020-21 UEFA Champions League.

After his successful years at the club, The Captain has finally decided to part ways and handle the captaincy to new hands. He has always been a valuable asset to the team. Fans are expecting the City to grab their final trophy under their captain. It will be exciting to see the clubs’ performance.

Lack of opportunities to Fernandinho has proved Manchester City to come up next season without him. The last time he was seen on the field playing was about a couple of months ago against Norwich.

Fernandinho plays as a midfielder and his role is mostly defensive. Altogether, he has proved his dominance in the field. He began his football career for a Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense.

Eventually, Fernandinho joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2005. He continued there until 2013 before joining Manchester City. For Shakhtar Donetsk, he has appeared in total of 284 games and scored 53 valuable goals. After 2013 he signed a contract with Manchester City F.C and made his appearance in 373 games and scored 25 goals all throughout. He even clinched 11 trophies for the club.

Internationally, he plays for the Brazil national team since 2011. He has scored 2 goals in his 53 games for Brazil.
