There have been two editions of the Nations League played so far and we have two different winners.

2018-19: Portugal

Portugal won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2019 defeating the Netherlands in the finals. Moreover, England finished third as they defeated Switzerland in the game for the third spot.

This win gave Cristiano Ronaldo his second international trophy after the Euro 2016.

Aleksandar Mitrović was the top scorer of the tournament with 6 goals.

2020-21: France

The 2018 World Champion team, France, bagged their second trophy in three years. France defeated Spain in the finals by 2-0 to win the UEFA Nations League in 2021. Furthermore, Euro 2020 Champion team, Italy finished third followed by Belgium.

So, France and Portugal are the two teams who have won the UEFA Nations League so far. Currently, the third edition of the UEFA Nations League is ongoing.

Romelu Lukaku, Ferran Torres and Erling Haaland all three finished as the joint top scorer in the tournament with 6 goals each.

The chances of France defending the title seem low as they are 3rd in their group in the 2022-23 edition and will not qualify for the Finals.
