Liam Livingstone Smashes Maiden IPL Fifty , Records Season’s Longest Six

Punjab Kings are battling against four times winners Chennai Super Kings in the 11th match of the TATA IPL at the Brabourne stadium. Punjab has played two matches so far and has won one against Royal Challengers Banglore while losing one against Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, CSK has lost both of its matches and will be looking to register its first win. Earlier CSK won the toss and decided to bowl first. The arrival of English all-rounder Liam Livingstone turned the match in Punjab King’s favor along with senior Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan adding 95 runs for the third wicket.

Liam Livingstone’s Maiden Fifty in IPL

Punjab Kings Liam Livingstone was bought at a whopping sum of 11.5 crores to Punjab Kings and today he ensured that the Punjab Kings are not disappointed as he smashed his maiden IPL fifty. He scored 60 runs off 32 balls at a tremendous strike rate of 187.5 against the Ravindra Jadeja-led side CSK(Chennai Super Kings).

Livingstone was dropped early by Ambati Rayadu at short third man but after this, he made use of the opportunity and smashed 5 sixes and 5 fours each. He also hit TATA IPL 2022 longest recorded six(108 meters). Talking about IPL’s biggest six, that record belongs to Albie Morkel who smashed 125 meters six in the 2008 edition of the IPL.

Livingstone smashed Mukesh Choudhary for a monster 108 meters six at the Brabourne stadium. He has started to prove his worth on the back of hitting six. He came to bat at No.4 in the second over without thinking much about the fall of two wickets before taking a risk with the bat in hand.

It was too much to handle for Livingstone for three-dot deliveries against Mukesh Choudhary so he pulled the fourth delivery for a six. He smashed Mukesh Choudhary for three fours and two sixes to all parts of the ground. Known for sixes he has already hit some high sixes in international cricket against Kagiso Rabada and Haris Rauf. His wide range of shots was on display throughout the innings.
