Shane Warne IPL: Shane Warne is considered one of the finest bowlers of all time in the history of cricket. Warne’s sudden demise on 4th March 2022 has left fans in utter shock. People stated that he died due to a severe heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand at the age of 52.
In 1992 Warne played his first Test cricket and has taken over 1000s of international wickets. He was also a part of Wisden Cricketers of the Century in 2000. Warne also made a record for the most wickets (708 test wickets) taken by any bowler in Test Match until 2007.
In January 2007 Warne declared his retirement from international cricket at the end of Australia’s victory over England in the Ashes series. Also, three other players including Glenn McGrath, Damien Martyn, and Justin Langer also declared their retirement at the same time, thus leading people like Ricky Pointing to proclaim it as the “end of an era”.

Shane Warne only played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL’s history. He joined IPL back in 2008 in the inaugural season till 2011. Warne has played a total of 55 matches for Rajasthan Royals between 2008 to 2011.
Also, he announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League through a Twitter post in 2011 but also promised to be in touch with the team and be in an advising position.

Shane Warne has proved his leadership by leading Rajasthan Royals to win IPL Tournament back in 2008 the inaugural edition and also he was the 1st captain to win the IPL title. Warne was also the first cricketer in IPL history to be sold in the auction at the base price of 2 crores by RR.
Under Warne’s captaincy, Rajasthan Royals won 11 out of 14 matches in IPL and in the finals defeated Chennai Super Kings by three wickets and eventually won the tournament.
