Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Stage 2 Masters finally came to an end on the 24th of July. The final showdown was between FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) and Paper Rex (PRX). Fans witnessed astral matches in five maps and finally, FPX took down PRX and entitled as the winner of VCT Stage 2 with an overall score of 3-2.
Paper Rex fans are slightly disappointed as they came close to winning the match. Still, all the players gave their best in the Champions Tour Stage 2. FunPlus Phoenix won the $200,000 grand prize after squeaking by 13-9 on the winner-take-all fifth map with Dmitry “SUYGETSU” Ilyushin as MVP.

APAC vs EU was one of the most exciting matches of VCT 2022 and one of the most highly anticipated matches. Because the stakes were so high, neither team wanted to give away the match.
The series opened with FunPlus Phoenix rout Bind 13-3, followed by Paper Rex’s 13-7 win over Icebox. The game was tied again when Paper Rex won 13-7 on Haven, giving FunPlus Phoenix a lead once again.
As Paper Rex was trailing 7-5 on Breeze, the decisive fifth map, managed to score four straight points to take the lead 9-7. The final six points of the game were scored by FunPlus Phoenix to secure a 13-9 victory.

FunPlus Phoenix was not one of the four teams that qualified straight into the Playoffs. Surprisingly, they finished second in Group B during the Group Stage and advanced to the next round.
Fnatic defeated them 2-0 in the first round of the upper bracket. From there on, FunPlus Phoenix lead the points table. In a rematch, they defeated Fnatic 2-1 in the lower-bracket semifinals after beating DRX and Guild Esports previously.
