Forest were one of the founding members of the rebranded top tier of English League which is now called the Premier League. However, in the very first season which was 1992/93, Forest finished 2nd and were relegated.

Moreover, they came back in the 1994/95 season and came back stronger. They finished 3rd place and won 22 games out of 42. In the following season, they again remained in the Premier League by finishing 9th, winning 15 games out of 38.
But the good form of Forest came to an end in 1996/97 season when they finished 20th and were relegated. They only managed to win 6 games out of 38.

However, their most recent appearance in Premier League came in 1998/99. But sadly, it was not an appearance to be remembered as they again finished 20th and were relegated. Since then, Nottingham Forest were absent from the Premier League for 23 years.
Now the win against Huddersfield Town secured their spot for next season’s Premier League.

Even though this is Forest’s first appearance in Premier League after 23 years, they had similar chances in past.
Forest were in the playoffs of 2002/03, 2006/07, 2009/10, and 2010/11 respectively but failed to make most of it.
