Transfer News: Manchester United Joins The Race To Sign This Star Midfielder For Free

Manchester United Transfer News: Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag wants to sign Christian Eriksen as a free agent following the midfielder’s impressive return to Premier League. Eriksen joined Brentford in January 2022 on a six-month deal. He left Inter Milan after he suffered a cardiac arrest in EURO 2020 playing for Denmark.

 

Eriksen spent the second half of the last season at Brentford. He played 11 Premier League games- scoring one and assisting four in the process for the bees.

Eriksen spent seven years with Tottenham after joining the London club from Ajax for £11million in 2013. He moved on to Inter for a bargain of £17million.

New United boss Erik ten Hag believes the 30-year-old can run the midfield as he looks to rebuild the squad, but he will not be able to offer Champions League football

  • Manger Ten Hag got to see the midfielder train with the Ajax side to build up his fitness before he joined the bees(Brentford FC)- following his cardiac arrest in Euros last summer – and was impressed with his desire and commitment.
  • Christian Eriksen may be one of the few former Ajax players Erik ten Hag looks to bring to Manchester United. He made 163 appearances for Ajax, scoring 32 goals and contributing 65 assists.

Manchester United will face competition from the star midfielder’s former side Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, who are also interested to bring him into the side.

Spurs are able to offer Champions League football as they have qualified for UEFA Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League.
