WATCH: Liverpool Minority Owner And NBA Star LeBron James In Stands To Support His Team Against Real Madrid

UEFA Champions League Finals of 2022 was played between Liverpool and Real Madrid in Paris. Moreover, the stadium was filled with stars as the night is termed as one of the biggest nights in football history. Fans saw Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, and many other names including NBA legend LeBron James in the game against Liverpool and Real Madrid.

LeBron James came to support Liverpool against Real Madrid. Not to get surprised, LeBron is not only a Liverpool fan but he also holds a stake in the club. The Lakers star holds minority ownership at the club.

Liverpool Unique Connection With LeBron James

Since 2021, LeBron James holds a minority stake at the Premier League club. Moreover, in a sponsorship deal with Fenway Sports Group (FSG), LeBron secured 2% of Liverpool’s stake £4.7 million ($6.5 million) along with business partner Maverick Carter.

Later on, LeBron’s stake in Liverpool was increased for an undisclosed amount and he went on to become an official partner of the FSG ownership group. LeBron is a huge fan of the club and has often opened up about the support.

After attending one of the games at Anfield, James said, “one of the single best experiences of my life! The excitement that these fans have is like no other.”

LeBron James was at Parc des France to support his club. He was seen in the stands in a blue suit.

However, Liverpool lost the final to Real Madrid by 1-0 despite dominating the game. This is the second time when Liverpool lost a UCL final against Real Madrid in the last 4 years.

This can still be termed as a successful season for Liverpool as they won two silverware. Not to forget the team lost the Premier League by a margin of 1 point to Manchester City.
