How Real Madrid’s Champions League Victory Cost Them A Loss Of £15 Million

Real Madrid clinched their 14th UEFA Champions League trophy by defeating Liverpool at Stade de France. Moreover, the team won the game by 1-0 against Liverpool to become a dominant force in the tournament.

Real defeated all the top three teams in the Premier League to win this year’s UCL trophy. They defeated Chelsea in the quarterfinals, Premier League champions Manchester City in Semi-finals, and then Liverpool in the finals. However, the victory came even sweeter for Chelsea fans as the club will now receive £15 Million as they won the Champions League.

Real Madrid’s UCL Victory With  Means £15 Million For Chelsea

Real Madrid signed the Belgian winger from Chelsea in 2019 for a total of £103 million including performance-related add-ons.

This means Chelsea will receive £15 Million as Eden Hazard was one of the members of the team who won the UCL. It might be frustrating for Real Madrid fans as the Hazard only played 84 minutes into the competition, and only 8 minutes in the knockout stages.

Hazard has been out of form since joining Real Madrid in 2019. However, the Belgian spoke after the victory and believes that next year is going to be his. Not to forget there are speculations of Real Madrid allowing the player to leave this summer and we might see him back in Premier League once again.

It’ll be interesting to see what Hazard decides and where he lands in next transfer window.

On 28th May, it was Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior who bagged the goal for Madrid in the 59th minute of the game.
