Kylian Mbappe breaks Messi’s record and becomes the youngest player to reach 40 Champions League goals
Mbappe is now the Youngest player to reach 40 champions League goals surpassing his PSG teammate, Lionel Messi after scoring a thriller opening in Paris-Saint German’s win against Juventus by 2-1 on Wednesday 2nd November.
At the young age of 23 years old, he knocked out his PSG teammate Lionel Messi’s record who scored 40 goals in the Champions League at the age of 24 years old.

Mbappe has been unstoppable so far if the player keeps this up he will surely be one of the best players in the upcoming world cup in Qatar. On Wednesday the PSG player scored one of the most memorable goals in history against Juventus Smashing his PSG teammate Messi’s world record for the youngest player to complete 40 goals in the League. It was his 7th goal in the six-game group stage and his 40th goal in his 59 champion League matches.
In the last World Cup, he was a great help for France to secure the title in FIFA World Cup 2018. So this year with his great performance so far we can see France making history this year at Qatar 2022 starting from 20th November.

Messi has scored over 785 career goals so far for clubs and the country, he also holds the record for the most international goals by a South American male (90). With this, he was also on the list for Barcelona’s all-time top goal scorer.
Along with Messi and Mbappe, Erling Haaland has also been established among the best current goalscorers list. Haaland has received several awards and has broken various records because of his speed strength and finishing technique. He was also the top-scorer in the Champion league 2020-21 season. It’ll be interesting to see, if Haaland manages to break Mbappe’s record.
