Another Bad News For Mason Greenwood?

Problems for Mason Greenwood don’t seem to be coming to an end very soon. According to the reports, the chances of his comeback at Manchester United this season look very slim. Although CPS now dropped all the criminal charges against him, the youngster is now being investigated by his club Manchester United.

Moreover, the investigation is said to be time taking and is nowhere going to end before May. As a result, Greewood’s comeback this season doesn’t look like a reality as of now.

Will Mason Greenwood Be Playing For Manchester United Next Season?

The 21-year-old striker last played for Manchester United in January 2022. Since then, he was suspended by the club after being charged with attempted rape, and assault. He was under investigation for around a year, until last month when CPS dropped all the charges against him.

However, now Manchester United have confirmed that the club will investigate Greenwood and will be conducting their own processes. And according to Daily Star, the investigation will be conducted for months, and the striker is most likely will not return to Old Trafford this season.

As part of the investigation, United will interview Greenwood to determine his version of events and will acquire the aid of specialists to evaluate Greenwood’s state of mind and physical health. So, more likely, if everything goes well, then only United fans will be able to see the number 11 back on the pitch next season. However, nothing can be said with surety about his comeback and it all depends on the investigation. 

Reports Suggest Erik Ten Hag Contacted Greenwood

According to The Sun, Manchester United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag recently spoke to Greenwood and asked how he was feeling mentally and physically.

Greenwood remained suspended at Manchester United but his wages, which is £100,000-a-week are being paid. The 21-year-old has a contract with the Red Devils till 2025.
