Manchester United has finally appointed Andy O’Boyle as their new Deputy Football Director. This decision according to the club is going to strengthen the leadership across the football department of the United. Andy O’Boyle will join the English Giants this summer after leaving his role as Head of Elite Performance at the Premier League.
Recently Manchester United appointed Erik Ten Hag as their new permanent manager of the club. After appointing O’Boyle as their new Deputy Football Director, he will provide support to John Murtough, Football Director, in driving the club’s football strategy across the first team, Academy, and women’s team.

Andy O’Boyle appointed as United’s new Deputy Football Director
Andy O’Boyle has finally rejoined the United but this time with a huge role for the club. He will give huge support to the director and others at the club. As he has been a coach in the club’s academy earlier, he is familiar with the club’s role and responsibilities. O’Boyle earlier worked for the club 16 years ago. During his role as the coach, he is credited to develop the likes of Marcus Rashford.
Speaking of O’Boyle club director John Murtough said “We are delighted to welcome Andy back to Manchester United to take up this important role in the club’s leadership, Andy has experience across all technical areas of football, from fitness and sports science to scouting and recruitment. This will make him a valuable addition to my team at Carrington as we continue to strengthen leadership and strategic planning across all our football activities.”
On the other hand, O’Boyle on returning at the club said: “I am thrilled to be rejoining Manchester United at such an exciting time for the club, as the first team prepares for a fresh start under Erik ten Hag, and the Academy and women’s teams go from strength to strength.
“Whilst it has been a privilege to serve the Premier League for the past five years, I can’t wait to get started at United and play my part in creating the right environment for football success.”,
