Shahzam Valorant Dropped From Sentinels: Since the partnered teams for the VCT 2023 were announced, a lot of movement started happening between teams and rosters. Sentinel is not a team to dodge the changes but definitely, they never wanted things to happen this way. In a shocking turn of events, Sentinels’ IGL Shahzam found out on his stream that he is dropped from his team.
That was unfortunate of him as he played for the team for around 3 years. Speaking on the situation, Sentinels CEO took to his Twitter and clarified the situation.

Sentinels’ IGL Shahzam Might Not Be A Part Of The Team Anymore
Shahzam was the IGL of the Sentinels team which won the VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavík in 2021 and all the three North American challengers that year. Along with IGLing, Shahzam was also doing some coaching work for the team until Sentinels signed Rawkus.
However, the results were not the same the following year, and as a result Sentinels are now going through a revamp. As of now, Sentinels have signed a new coach SyykoNT, who guided XSET to win the Stage-1 NA challengers in 2022 and had a good run at Champions 2022. Sentinels also announced the signing of XSET player Zekken.

But keeping all this side, yesterday on his stream, Shahzam mentioned that he is now dropped and he got to know this way. He said, “Well, guys, it looks like an article just came out. Do you want to know the best part? I just found out with you, guys.” He added,“Three years on the team and I find out like this.”
Sentinels’ CEO On The Unfortunate Situation
Sentinels’ CEO, Rob Moore, clarified via a Tweet that the timing was unfortunate but certainly not a surprise.
I want to clarify the situation with @ShahZaMk , on 9/21 I reminded him he did not have a contract for next season, we were most likely bringing in new coaches, they would decide the new roster and he was free to contact other teams. https://t.co/apT97BGQUB

Replying to that, Shahzam said that his disappointment in this process was lack of comms from my team of the last 3 years.
of course I’m disappointed not to be included in the roster for next year but my grind continues. I’m open to both T1 and T2 teams looking to win.

Shahzam’s contract with Sentinels was going to end at the end of this year and seems like the team decided not to renew it.
As of now, Dapr and Tenz are the only members of the VCT Masters Reykjavík winning team in the active roster, but their future remains uncertain too.
