NAVI Officially Bench Their IGL Boombl4, Surprisingly Not Because Of Recent Performance

One of the most famous teams of CS: GO, Natus Vincere, also known as NAVI have now decided to bench their IGL Andrii ‘Boombl4’ Horodenskyi from the active roster. Moreover, the reason behind the decision is not because of the last major where they finished 2nd.

Boombl4 was under fire from social media due to his wife. His wife seemed to support Russia in the ongoing tension between Ukraine and Russia. The official statement from the Ukraine-based team said that the decision was made because of ‘high reputational risk’.

NAVI Under Their IGL ‘Boombl4’

NAVI is one of the most successful teams in the CS: GO scene. Moreover, the team won the PGL Stockholm last year under Boombl4’s in-game leading. The team also won BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2021 and the World Finals in 2021.

However, Boombl4 and two other players came under radar when their home country decided to declare military operation on Ukraine. To this, NAVI decided they won’t work with players based in Russia. Later on, NAVI’s CEO confirmed that all the three Russian players on their team, Boombl4, Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy are willing to relocate.

But Boombl4’s take on the ongoing crisis made the situation complicated for both the team and himself. Later on, the IGL of NAVI went on to say, “I’m sorry for being silent for so long about everything that’s going on, and for the inappropriate publications of my wife Lika. I’ve been in Ukraine on many bootcamps, never was discriminated against on any basis, and always felt myself at home.”

This is clearly the end of Boombl4’s run at NAVI. He successfully lifted several trophies at NAVI as an IGL during his three years tenure.

His last tournament remained PGL Major Antwerp 2022 where the team lost to Faze in the finals.
