37-Years Old Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks The World Record With A Hattrick, Know Some Important Facts From The Match Here

Cristiano Ronaldo Hattrick: The Old Trafford was singing ‘Viva Ronaldo, Viva Ronaldo’ throughout the match. The chants were for the celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo as he became the greatest goal scorer in football’s history that too in style.

It is said that Ronaldo gets his things in his own way and he replied to a lot of questions from just one match in his own style and way.

Earlier, Ronaldo was left out of the squad (due to injury) against local rivals Manchester City where the United team were crushed by 4-1. However, Ronaldo started against Tottenham Hotspurs and proved that he was the missing piece. The Portuguese captain not only scored 1 or 2 goals but 3 to break scatter a number of records in a single day. So, let’s have a look at those records.

Cristiano Ronaldo Scores A Hattrick Against Tottenham Hotspurs To Achieve Greatest Milestone

Cristiano Ronaldo has now 807 career goals for club and country, more than any other player in football’s history. Earlier the record belonged to Austro-Czech Josef Bican who had 805 goals to his name.

In the 12th minute, Ronaldo scored the first goal of the game which was a stunner to give United the lead and equalize Bican’s record. Further, Spurs equalized from the penalty spot as Harry Kane smashed the ball into the corner.

It didn’t take much time for Ronaldo to score his second goal of the game and to break the record. In the 38th minute, Ronaldo scored a simple goal to break the record of an all-time greatest goal scorer and give United the lead back. United went to the tunnel at half-time with a lead of 2-1.

However, Harry Maguire’s own goal in the second half looked like giving Ronaldo’s celebrating a bitter taste. But the 37-year old took things into his own hands and scored a header from a corner to complete his hattrick and secured 3 important points for United.

This was a much-needed win for Manchester United to secure the top 4 spots for next year’s UCL qualification.

Records That Ronaldo Broke And Made Against Spurs

Ronaldo is now officially the greatest goal scorer of the game. However, this was not the only thing he achieved.

Cristiano Ronaldo is now the 2nd oldest player(37y & 35d) to score a hattrick in Premier League following Teddy Sheringham who scored in August 2003 (37y & 146d). This doesn’t seem unbreakable if Ronaldo stays at Manchester United for one more season.

This was Ronaldo’s 49th hat-trick of his club career (59th overall) and is only 1 away from that 50 mark. Now Ronaldo has 97 goals for Manchester United in Premier League and soon he will get that 100 mark.
