Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who has been considered as of the greatest batsman to have played the game celebrated his 49th birthday on 24 April. Master Blaster started his international career back in 1989 at the age of 16 and has served the nation for almost 24 years retiring at the age of 40.

Sachin Tendulkar has been the most complete batsman of his time and arguably the biggest cricket icon game has ever known. His batting was based on the purest principles.

There were no weaknesses in Tendulkar’s game. He scored all around the wicket with pure technique. His century on the fastpitch at WACA is considered one of the best innings ever to have been played in Australia

The crowd still remembers chanting ‘Sachin Sachin’ from the stands. Sachin has changed the face of Indian Cricket because of his great records. He had a tremendous career in both Test and ODI formats for India. There is hardly any record that does not have the name Sachin.

Tendulkar was never dominated by great bowlers like Wasim Akram, Glenn Mcgrath, Shoaib Akhtar, and Curtley Ambrose which makes him different from other batsmen.

In the two decades of his career, Sachin has played many record-breaking innings. He played his last match in November 2013 with West Indies. He has also made a record of six World Cup appearances being on the winning side in the 2011 World Cup.

Tendulkar’s achievements seem greater still when looked at in the light of the burden of expectation he had to bear. Anything less than a hundred is considered a failure
