1. Shahid Afridi 

The former Pakistani cricketer and skipper, Shahid Afridi holds the record for hitting the longest six in cricket history. He smashed a 153-meter-long six in Pakistan vs South Africa’s Third ODI match at Johannesburg on March 17, 2013.

The all-rounder hit a massive six against the South African cricketer, Ryan McLaren in the 35th over’s fourth ball. He scored 88 runs off 48 balls. However, Pakistan later lost the match by 34 runs.

Afridi unofficially holds this record as later, the ICC books recorded the six as 120 meters long.

2. Brett Lee

Australian cricketer Brett Lee stands second on the list with an over-the-roof 130-135m long six he hit against West Indies’ Daren Powell in a test match in 2005.

The right-handed batter and pace bowler officially holds the record as per the ICC books.

Furthermore, Australia defeated West Indies by 379 runs with Lee scoring 47 runs off 82 balls

3. Martin Guptill 

New Zealand’s top-order Batsman, Martin Guptill stroked a 127-meter-long six against South Africa’s Lonwabo Tsotsobe at Westpac Stadium in Wellington. Hitting a midwicket boundary, Martin’s shot rolled back on the ground from the roof of the stand. In addition, Guptill scored 78 runs with 55 deliveries remaining not out as New Zealand won the match.

4. Liam Livingstone

English cricketer Liam Livingstone is fourth on the list as he smacked the Pakistani cricketer Haris Rauf for a 122-meter-long six during the second T20I match in Headingley in 2021. Moreover, Liam smacked 16th over’s first ball which landed on a nearby rugby pitch. Later on, England won the match by 45 runs.

Also, the right-handed batsman holds the record for hitting the fastest-ever T20I century by an English player.

5. Corey Anderson

New Zealand’s batting allrounder, Corey Anderson hit a 122-meter-long six in a New Zealand Vs India match in 2014. Corey smashed a six on Mohammad Shami’s delivery which landed on the roof of the stadium.

Further, Anderson won the player of the match award as he stood not out with 68 runs and New Zealand’s victory.

6. Mark Waugh 

Australia’s former international cricketer Mark Waugh hit a 120-meter-long six against Daniel Vettori during a test match with New Zealand in 1999 at Perth.

Withal, the cricketer turned commentator held the record for the highest six for a long time.

7. Yuvraj Singh

Indian left-handed batsman, Yuvraj Singh has delivered numerous impressive performances throughout his career. One such performance is hitting a 119-meter-long six against Australian cricketer Brett Lee during T20 World Cup’s semi-final match in 2007. He also became the player of the match award as India won by 15 runs.

8. Mahendra Singh Dhoni

MS Dhoni is one of the most prolific batsmen in India. Popularly known as ‘cool’, MS Dhoni was the captain of the World Cup 2011’s triumphant team. Dhoni is unsurprisingly on this list with his 118-meter-long New Zealand during the third ODI match in Auckland in 2009.

9. Shahid Afridi

Apart from being the list topper, Afridi hit a 116-meter-long Australia in 2005 only to be mentioned again in the list.

10. Chris Gayle

West Indies’ Chris Gayle alias ‘The universe boss’ has hit monstrous sixes and fours of all time. During a T20 World Cup match, Gayle hit a 116-meter-long India’s Yusuf Pathan which egressed the Kensington Oval stadium in 2010.

Besides that, Chris holds the world record for hitting the most sixes which is 553.
