Meet The First Two Players To Be Inducted In RCB’s Hall Of Fame

Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers who have been an integral part of Royal Challengers Banglore are the first two players to be inducted into the RCB Hall Of Fame.

They both enjoy a great fan following in India with the footmark they left with RCB. It is no surprise that these stars of cricket are the first to be inducted into their Hall Of Fame.

AB de Villiers was a part of RCB from 2011 to 2021, while Chris Gayle was with the franchise for six years.

In the year 2012, Gayle scored 733 in 14 matches. On the other side, ABD was a fan favorite and went on partnership with Kohli that made RCB win matches. The Proteas was one of the crucial players for RCB over the years.

ABD and the Universe boss joined the event via video conferencing and were honored for their outstanding contribution over the year.

In a video that was uploaded to the official Twitter handle of RCB, the entire red army can be seen gathering in the team’s common area for the ceremony. Former RCB skipper Virat Kohli and the team’s Director of cricket gave their speeches and then both of them were gifted with gold plated momentos having their names and jersey numbers.

The former RCB captain said in a statement, “AB has truly changed the game of cricket with his innovation, brilliance, and sportsmanship which truly defines the RCB Play Bold philosophy”

“It’s truly special for me to be doing this for both of you. We saw videos of how you have changed the way the IPL has been played over the years. Two people who have had a huge impact in IPL being where it is today and RCB where it is today “, he added.

De Villers Delivers An Emotional Message

” to the RCB boys sitting there, what an amazing privilege. I am quite emotional, to be honest. I have been a little bit out of cricket as you know and just watching you boys on Tv just last while, really gets me excited about things that are coming this season. Virat, thanks for the kind words. Mike, Nikhil, and everyone from the franchise who set this up. it’s really special,” said AB de Villiers.

” I wanted to thank the RCB franchise for everything. It’s been really special for me as well to be inducted into something fantastic and I will always keep RCB close to my heart. I share a lot of memories with some special players and some special coaches as well. It’s been really fantastic. I wish I was there to give this speech. As AB mentioned, it’s a bit emotional as well because it’s very touching for such a franchise that they have created over the years,” Gayle said in his speech.

Both AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle are the two most legendary players in the history of IPL.
