Ambati Rayudu Announced His Retirement From IPL, Then CSK CEO Denies It: More Details Here

Chennai Super Kings star batsman Ambati Rayudu shocked the cricket world after announcing his retirement from the Indian premier league. Rayudu through his Twitter handle informed that this league would be his last. Although soon after posting the tweet he deleted it. Even CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan made a statement about Rayudu quoting “I spoke to him and he is not retiring”.

Through his tweet, Rayudu mentioned “I am happy to announce that this will be my last IPL. I have had a wonderful time playing it and being a part of 2 great teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank Mumbai Indians and CSK for the wonderful journey.”

Is Ambati Rayudu Retiring From IPL?

The cricket world seems to be confused after Rayudu deleted his tweet. There has been no official statement by him regarding this situation. But it seems after the statement made by the CEO of the franchise and the removal of the tweet that he won’t be retiring after this season.

Earlier in 2019, when Rayudu was not selected for the World Cup held in England he announced his retirement from international cricket.

Probably the end of the season might give the fans some confirmed information if still Rayudu doesn’t clear things by his side.

Rayudu Overall IPL Career

Ambati Rayudu made his official debut in 2010 when he was bought by Mumbai Indians. The same year Mumbai reached the finals where they lost against Chennai Super Kings. He has been a part of three IPL trophies won by Mumbai . i.e. in 2013,2015 and 2017. Rayudu was an integral part of Mumbai Indians until he was bought by CSK in 2018. From 2018 till the present he has shown epic dominance in the field for the four-time champions.

Ambati Rayudu has played a total of 174 innings in IPL with an aggregate score of 4187. He has even scored 22 fifties and a century with his highest individual score to be as 100*. He also has a strike rate of 127.26 in IPL itself.

In his 13 years of IPL career, he has been a valuable asset for both the franchises he has played for. His career statistics is quiet evident in proving this statement.
