ICC T20 Women World Cup: T20 format has been a blessing for all cricket fans. And so, the ICC decided to take it to new heights by introducing a World Cup for it. Moreover, the ICC T20 World Cup for Women started 2 years later than the inaugural edition for men, which was in 2007.

Australia
The Australian team has been the most successful in the history of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup winning the tournament on 5 occasions. The team won 3 consecutive editions of the tournament from 2010 to 2014.
However, in 2016, the West Indies team broke the winning streak of the Kangaroos by defeating them in the finals by 8 wickets. But, the Australians bounced back and won back-to-back trophies again and are defending champions.

2. England
England won the ICC Women’s Cup in the inaugural edition of the tournament, in 2009. The team defeated New Zealand in the finals to secure the first trophy.
After the victory in 2009, England made to the finals thrice but ended up losing on all the occasions, all to Australia.

3. West Indies
The West Indies team were the ones to stop the Aussies, who were eyeing their 4th consecutive win in 2016. Australia made it to the finals, however, they were facing the mighty West Indies team, who claimed their first ICC Women’s World Cup trophy after defeating them by 8 wickets in the finals.

Currently, the 8th edition of the ongoing World Cup is ongoing in South Africa in 2023.
