List of all the 5 teams of WPL and their star players: The auction for WPL 2023 took place on 13th February. About 409 players were part of the auction among which 87 players were picked by the five teams. The 87 players list includes 30 overseas players and the rest were Indian players. Where Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3.4 crore, players like Dani Wyatt and Amy Jones remained unsold.

The 5 teams participating in the Women’s Premier League are Gujarat Titans, UP Warriorz, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals. Every team participated in the auction bidding on their favorite players, some of the highest purchases are done by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, and Up Warriorz.

Star Players Of WPL Teams 2023

Every WPL team has been on edge to make the perfect team with all-rounder players, they were all in to build a strong bidding game in the auction. With RCB making the highest purchase with Smriti Mandhana to Indian Cricket Team’s captain Harmanpreet being sold to Mumbai Indians, this inaugural edition will surely make history.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Alike other teams, RCB had a purse of Rs 12  crores in the WPL auction for bidding. With a heavy fanbase in men’s cricket, RCB has to choose some strongest players to maintain their supremacy.

RCB has got the highest bid on the WPL auction 2023 with Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.4 crores. With Richa Ghosh for Rs 1.9 crore and Ellyse Perry for Rs 1.7 crore RCB has some of the top players on their team.

2. Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans owned by the Adani group purchased the franchise for Rs 1289 crores during the WPL auction this year.
Titans got their most expensive player by bidding on Ashleigh Gardner for Rs 3.20 crores. Some of the most expensive purchase of Titans is Beth Mooney and Sophia Dunkley for Rs 2 crores and 60 lakhs respectively.

3. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have got the Indian team’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur for Rs 1.8 crore, a much cheaper amount than many other players. The top buy of the team is Natalie Sciber for Rs 3.20 crore. Also, after an intense bidding session with GT and UP Warriorz, MI bagged Pooja Vastrakar for Rs 1.9 crore.

Also, Jhulan Goswami and Devika Palshikaar will be the bowling and batting coaches of the team.

4. Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals has also built a strong team by bidding on some of the strongest Indian and overseas players. DC purchased Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues for Rs 2.2 crores becoming their biggest purchase of the season. Delhi also has Australia’s captain Meg Lanning along with India’s Shafali Verma for Rs 1.1 crore and Rs 2 crore respectively.

5. UP Warriorz

The Warriorz bought the second most expensive player of the WPL by purchasing Deepti Sharma, an Indian all-rounder for a whopping amount of Rs 2.6 crores. They have spent their entire money of Rs 12 crores in order to be among the strongest teams.

UP has also got England’s Sophie Ecclestone for Rs 1.8 crores.

All 5 WPL teams have made sure to bid on their favorite players. Let’s see which team will make it to the trophy of the first-ever Women’s Premier League.
