100 Thieves’ Valorant division has made some big changes in their roster and have released two of their players immediately. The team signed BabyJ and ec1s in January and in less than 50 days, 100T bid them farewell.
As of now, 100 thieves are competing in Valorant challengers, and to fill the roster they have signed two new players. 100T loaned Bang from TSM and jcStani from Pioneer for the rest of the VCT. So, let’s have a look on the situation in more detail.
For our upcoming VALORANT matches, @bangzerra and @jcStani will be joining our team on loan. Welcome both to #100T!

Earlier in January, 100 Thieves announced their new lineup for VCT after they released two of their important players Steel and nitr0. Steel has now joined T1 and nitr0 retired from the game to go back to CS: GO.

To fill the spaces, 100T signed babyJ and ec1s. In the first two matches of VCT Challengers, the team lost both their group games. As of now, the team is ranked 5th in their group and if they fail to make it into top 4, they’ll be eliminated. 100 Thieves were one of the four teams who were invited from the VCT Challengers along with Cloud9, Sentinels, and Envy.
But as it looks like, both the new player failed to perform up to the mark and now are released.
Today, we have made the difficult decision to release @BxbyJ_ & @ec1s_, effective immediately, as we continue to build for the future.

In their last game, BabyJ bagged 43 kills which was the maximum for 100 Thieves, whereas ec1s managed to get 29 kills. However, the result was not acceptable as 100T lost to The Guard by 2-1.
In the first game against Could 9, 100 Thieves failed to win a map and were handed a 2-0 loss. Moreover, BayJ and ec1s both claimed 21 kills from the match which was the least among all 10 players.
Speaking to the situation, Nadeshot, 100 Thieves one of the founders and CEO posted a video on Twitter and explained the situation. He also clarified that the roster didn’t fit well and the format of the tournaments is in such a way that it is make or break.
